Joe Johnson and the Bluebacks
Joe Johnson – Lead Guitar / Vocals
Joe has been playing the guitar since 1993. Joe played drums with Scott in a high-school band called “Mondo Melons” before Scott moved to Lansing, MI for the next ten years. After that, he played with a couple other groups doing classic rock tunes. Joe continued to play guitar, slowly making the change from nineties rock to the sweet Chicago and Texas blues styles. Heavily influenced by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert Collins, Albert King, Johnny Lang and probably more than any other Mr. Buddy Guy, Joe decided to start an all-blues based band in late 2007. Joe enjoys tackling new, out of the box blues songs that challenge the skill of the group.
Dave – Bass Guitar
Dave is an exceptional musician, and has been playing music with Randy since he was a kid. His musical talents reach well beyond the bass guitar too. Dave is a first instrument guitar player, and a good one at that. He had been learning his theory and training his musical ear on the six string to become the fantastic bass guitar player that he is. From time to time you will even see him get behind the drum kit too. Dave is an original member of the band, and alot of fun to watch on stage.
Randy – Drums
Randy, like Dave and Joe is also a multi-instrumentalist. He is a first instrument drummer, who plays guitar like a champion. Randy is the guy in the band who’s always has a smile on his face, and puts a smile on other people’s faces. Overall, besides being a phenomenal drummer, he’s just a fun guy to be around. He’s been playing 70′s rock and blues with Dave since they were in high school.
Scott – Harmonica / Guitar
Scott used to play guitar in “Mondo Melons” band with Joe back in high school. He’s been playing guitar for years. He moved away from West Michigan after high school for about ten years, and came back as a dynamite harp player and guitar player. Scott is the guy who looks at you all confused and says “how do you play that?” …then rattles it off like he’s been practicing the lick for years. A true sandbagger, but one of the better musicians in the area and a valuable member of the band.

These guys were really good.
I saw these guys at Reggie’s in Chicago and they are awesome! They will knock your socks off.
Thank goodness we’ll be in sandals then. Can’t wait to see you there Happy!
